Camp Communications & Operations Assistant

Location: Mactier, Ontario

Reports to: Manager, Community Engagement, CNIB Lake Joe

Direct Reports: No

Rate: $18/hr

Type: Full time, Contract

Founded in 1918, CNIB is one of Canada's oldest charities. For more than 60 years, CNIB Lake Joe has been providing exciting, safe, and accessible camp experiences for Canadians with sight loss. We are looking for a Camp Communications & Operations Assistant to help us bring the magic of summer camp to life for ‘kids of all ages' with sight loss, and their families!

Your Impact at CNIB
  • Assist the team in developing and fostering an inclusive, empowered culture where every team member - staff and volunteer - feels their contributions are valued and respected.
  • Ensure understanding of, and compliance with, all CNIB policies and procedures.
  • Champion CNIB's high standard of client and customer service, ensuring they are understood and upheld across all camp operations.
  • Generate engaging content for promotional purposes, including social media updates.
  • Coordinate CNIB Lake Joe's representation at public awareness events.
  • Support the philanthropy team in executing CNIB Lake Joe's annual fundraising event.
  • Participate in CNIBLakeJoe@Home virtual programming and in-person programming as needed.
Requirements

Who you are:

  • Enrolled in a recognized Business Certificate Program or equivalent experience.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience in an office administrative role is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of human resources, finance, marketing & communications is an asset.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills, adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
  • Experience with databases and queries is an asset.
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check (within 6 months).
  • Personal or professional experience related to blindness or assistive technology is an asset.
Work Environment
  • Position based at CNIB Lake Joe, June - August, shared accommodations, all expenses paid.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and work independently or as part of a team.
  • May require occasional overtime, flexible hours, and minimal travel.
