Calypso Resto Kitchens & BBQ - Catering Supervisor

Calypso is Canada’s biggest and best waterpark facility. Located in the Eastern Ontario region, halfway between Ottawa and Montreal, it's the summertime fun place to be!

Candidates must have their own transportation. There is no public transit to the park.

Department: Resto

Availability : Monday to Sunday, various operational hours and holidays

Description

The Kitchens & BBQ Supervisor is responsible for organizing and delivering our catered events for groups. The supervisor is a leader, mentor and advisor to seasonal young workers.

Tasks

  • Manage and mentor team leaders cooks and dishwashers to achieve the departmental goals for the season.
  • Accountable for food inventories and maintaining proper rotation of food stock to ensure freshness.
  • Responsible to organize food, prep, cooking and serving of catered events.
  • Collaborate with sales to stay up to date on new group bookings, changes in numbers or menu items.
  • Hire, train and mentor staff on proper food handling as well as safety in kitchens
  • Ensure staff are aware of the health & safety procedures
  • Delegate staff to cleaning tasks to ensure hygienic work spaces
  • Develop and distribute work schedule
  • Ensure sufficient staff is available at all times to accommodate high volume demands as they happen.
  • Correct punch entries every day to ensure accurate resource budgeting
  • Ensure your staff is setting a high standard, eg. Uniforms, no cell phones, customer interactions.

Experience

Must be 18 years old with class-G license to drive golf carts

Post secondary course of study in hospitality, culinary arts.

Leadership or mentoring experience

Ability to focus on task at hand and prioritize work

Profound understanding of excellence in customer service.
