RTX Oakville site is seeking a Calibration Technician to maintain meteorology equipment calibration and support 5S initiatives in Quality Control.

You will perform in-house calibration and coordinate contractors, ensuring traceability and documentation. The role supports audits and applies Lean techniques to improve workflow and data tracking in MS Office and SAP environments.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • 2+ years Calibration experience and 3+ years Inspection experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains accurate calibration of tooling and equipment for Oakville Meteorology per regulatory requirements.
  • Performs in-house calibration for instruments like micrometers, torque wrenches, dial bore gauges.

In this position, you will report to the Quality Control Supervisors and will work on maintaining all meteorology equipment calibration for the Oakville site, along with supporting the 5S initiatives in both Quality control areas.

Work Shift

Weekday Days (Monday-Friday: 7A-3P OR 8A-4P)

What You Will Do
  • Maintains accurate Calibration of all tooling and equipment in regard to Oakville Meteorology, in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform in-house calibration for instruments like Micrometers, torque wrenches, dial bore gauges, etc.-some experience with calibration required.
  • Coordination of all contractors & vendors required for Calibration of equipment.
  • Ensure full traceability of all calibrations and associated documentation.
  • Support all Audits with regards to site Calibration requirements.
  • Ensure all necessary steps are taken to protect product when calibration is found to be expired or out of tolerance.
  • Software creation for tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Lead events to optimize workflow in areas.
  • 5S optimization – Digital and Physical workspace.
  • Create Standard Work documents.
  • Participating in Continuous Improvement Events.
  • All other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Typically requires a High school diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of basic computer software (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • 2 or more years of Calibration Experience.
  • 3 or more years of Inspection Experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages to the 4th decimal point.
  • The ability to utilize computer systems including input of data and retrieval of information for inspections and configuration purposes.
  • The ability to review documents and identify and resolve any errors or missing information.
  • Ability to use operating software including SAP.
  • 3+ years in an Aerospace or similar inspection role.
  • Strong understanding of Continuous Improvement and Lean Techniques and applications.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all MS Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work different shifts.
  • Please be advised that the successful candidate must meet all requirements under International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) & Controlled Goods Directorate (CGD) and be eligible to work in Canada. Securing CGD Clearance, as required by Canadian law, may take 1-2 weeks for Canadian citizens and permanent residents and up to 5 months or longer for all others.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this role is 74,068 CAD – 87,144 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
