Job summary

JBS Food Canada is seeking a Junior Accountant located in Calgary, Alberta. The role involves assisting with weekly and monthly financials, reconciling accounts, and supporting the accounting team under supervision from the Senior Accountant and Controller.

The ideal candidate holds a college diploma or university degree in business or accounting with 1–3 years of related experience, and is pursuing CPA. Proficiency in MS Office is required, and ACCPAC is an asset.

Qualifications

• College diploma or University degree in business or accounting.
• 1–3 years of related accounting experience; CPA in progress preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills; problem-solving and organizational abilities.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of ACCPAC is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Accountant and Controller with weekly financials.
• Reconcile accounts receivable and GL accounts; maintain costing files.
• Input weekly KPI data for accounting team and support fixed asset management.
• Prepare period end reconciliations and management reports as needed.
• Support month-end close and ad hoc analyses.
