Job summary

Country Grocer in Esquimalt is seeking a Part-Time Cake Decorator to join our bakery team. If you have a creative flair and enjoy decorating cakes, you will bake, decorate, and help with customer service.

This role offers flexible mornings, weekends, evenings and holidays up to 32 hours per week. Pay ranges CA$20.75 to CA$27.25 per hour, with paid vacation and sick days, plus perks like weekly pay and team discounts.

Qualifications

• Creative flair and artistic ability to decorate cakes.
• Friendly, outgoing personality to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Previous cake decorating experience is an asset; formal baking schooling desirable.
• Food Safe Certification would be an asset; certification may be provided after hire.
• Excellent customer service, time management and multitasking skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Bake and decorate sweet items in bakery.
• Provide premier customer service by greeting customers and answering questions.
• Ensure items are labeled, covered, rotated and shelves stocked.
• Process special orders when needed.
• Prepare and package cookies, cakes, bread and donuts; decorate cakes.
• Perform other duties and support other stores as required.

The Job

Our Esquimalt store is eager to welcome a new Part-Time Cake Decorator to their team! If you’re a creative minded individual with a passion for yummy baked goods, we "knead" to meet you!

• Bake and decorate sweet and savory items in our bakery
• Provide premier customer service by greeting customers and responding to questions; making recommendations when needed
• Ensure all prepared bakery items are properly labeled, covered and rotated and that shelves are stocked
• Process special orders on an as needed basis
• Prepare and package cookies, cakes and bread, and ice donuts and decorate cakes
• Perform other duties and support other stores as required

Schedule Requirements

• Ability to work during mornings, weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Up to 32 hours per week

Pay: CA$20.75 - CA$27.25 per hour

• Previous cake decorating experience would be considered an asset; and formal schooling in a similar field would be highly desirable
