Job summary

Metro in Brampton is seeking a Cake Decorator for a part-time role. You will decorate cakes and bakery items to customer requests and company standards, collaborating with the bakery team to ensure quality presentation.

You’ll prepare icings, fillings and decorative elements, write messages on cakes, keep workstations clean, follow food-safety procedures, and assist with packaging and stock. Flexible shifts may include days, evenings and weekends.

• Monitor inventory levels of decorating supplies and notify management when replenishment is needed.
• Assist customers with cake orders and recommendations.

This position is part of a unionized bargaining unit. The hourly wage for this position starts at $16.90 - $17.00 and is established in accordance with the collective agreement. Depending on a candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, and prior experience, a higher hourly wage may be offered. Any hourly wage offered for this role, whether starting or higher, will fall within the wage scale established for this position in accordance with the collective agreement.

This is a posting for an existing permanent part-time position.

What You’ll Do:

• Decorate cakes and other bakery products according to customer requests and company standards.
• Prepare icings, fillings, and decorative elements following recipes and guidelines.

• Assist with packaging and labeling finished products.

• Assist customers with cake orders, including providing recommendations and taking custom requests.
• Support stocking and merchandising of bakery displays as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient department operations.
• Assist with special promotions, seasonal displays, and additional tasks as assigned by management.
