Job Summary

Cage Washer Operator – Evening shift 15:00 to 23:15

As a Cage Washer Operator for our Toxicology team in Sherbrooke, you will be responsible for ensuring the equipment used to maintain the animals’ living conditions is cleaned according to the highest wellbeing standards in the industry.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Operating and performing daily checks on cage washer machines.
  2. Monitoring the use of soaps and the needs of the cage washers.
  3. Cleaning all types of animal housing and accessories (cages, toys, bowls, water bottles, etc.).
  4. Performing basic maintenance on all cages and accessories to ensure safety for the animals.
Qualifications

We will train you in the following if you possess the qualifications below:

  1. Organized and self-driven.
  2. Ability to work physically (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.).
  3. Understanding of written English.
  4. High school diploma (DES) or equivalent experience.

Please note: Upon hiring, an annual tuberculosis test will be required at the company’s expense.

Role Specific Information
  • Location: Accessible via Sherbrooke’s public transit; free parking; electric vehicle charging station.
  • Pay: Starting at $17.75/hr.
  • Schedule: Full-time, permanent (37.5 hours/week). Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required.
  • Shift: Evening, Monday to Friday, 15:00 to 23:15, with a bonus of $2.50/hour after 15:00.
