Job description

Job Summary: The CAE and Materials Analyst is responsible for supporting the development of new products and technologies at Musashi. This role will support structural and fatigue finite element analysis (FEA) of automotive suspension and powertrain components. You will analyze components for performance and collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to optimize designs. Additionally, this role involves materials characterization through planning and testing of new materials to develop a detailed understanding of materials performance for more accurate FEA predictions. Reports to: Supervisor - CAE & Materials Engineering.

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in mechanical, automotive, materials engineering, or related discipline with 0-3 years’ experience.
  2. Master's degree in mechanical, automotive, or materials engineering is an asset.
  3. Eligible for EIT or P.Eng designation preferred.
  4. Automotive product development experience is an asset (suspension, powertrain components).
  5. Excellent understanding of solid mechanics, materials, finite element methods/analysis, mechanical design.
  6. Hands-on testing experience, materials testing, and results analysis (hardness, tensile, fatigue) is an asset.
  7. Experience with FEA (Abaqus or similar) is an asset.
  8. Experience with HyperMesh/HyperWorks is an asset.
  9. Fatigue testing and analysis experience is an asset.
  10. Strong technical aptitude; understanding of fundamental engineering principles and processes for research and development.
  11. Excellent communication skills to present complex ideas to a broad audience and report to stakeholders.
