The Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) Team Lead is responsible for leading CADD initiatives to maintain and improve internal efficiencies and customer service provided to City-wide clients. Primary duties include:

  • Mentor, coach and supervise team of Business Support Technical Analysts (BSTAs) providing technical support for Autodesk (e.g. AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD Map), Bentley (e.g. MicroStation, and ProjectWise), FME, Python and other CADD related processes and tools.
  • Provide leadership, staff development, coaching, direction and assistance to staff in their dealing with partners, customers and City staff.
  • Manage client relationships.
  • Prepare, direct and monitor operating and capital budgets, client invoicing and performance metrics.
  • Identify and lead initiatives designed to improve internal efficiencies and improve customer service while effectively managing staff and key partners through change.
  • Communicate proactively and effectively with clients, partners and other business partners.
Qualifications
  • A completed 2 year diploma in a geospatial related program and at least 8 years of engineering graphics technology, geospatial mapping experience or related; OR
  • A degree in Business, Geography, Geomatics, Engineering (Geomatics), Computer Science or related and at least 4 years of engineering graphics technology, geospatial mapping experience or related.
  • Certification in project management or a project management designation (for example: PMP) will be considered assets.
  • The ability to collaborate to achieve common goals, balance competitive priorities and work as a leader.
  • Equivalent combinations of experience and educationmay be considered.

Workstyle: This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

Compensation: Level E $85,135 - 128,548 per annum

Days of Work: This position works a 5 day

work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
