Faculty Overview

As Canada’s only polytechnic university, Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) is the fourth largest university in the province of British Columbia and serves communities in the South Fraser region and beyond. FoS offers experiential learning through hands-on curriculum, co-ops and research collaboration opportunities with KPU’s Institute for Sustainable Horticulture (ISH), Institute for Sustainable Food Systems (ISFS), and Applied Genomics Centre (AGC). As well, our faculty is home to over a hectare of horticulture field lab, a working farm and a state-of-the art teaching brewery, which has been recognized internationally and locally, winning BC Brewery of the Year in 2019.

Position Overview

The CADD Technologies program from Faculty of Science is currently seeking applications for 2 (two) NR2 instructors to teach 100% FTE, from Sep 1, 2025 until Aug 31, 2026.

The successful candidate will be required to teach in support of CADD Technology Diploma from the suite of courses related to the Architectural specialty.

The successful candidate must be willing and able to teach courses in-person, at the KPU Cloverdale campus, as well as blended (in-person and online) courses of the program.

Qualifications

Relevant Drafting/CADD related post-secondary Certificate and/or Diploma or equivalent
More than 6 years relevant working experience in the field of Drafting and/or Design and/or construction of Single and or multi family residential buildings, commercial buildings
Demonstrated experience in Architectural Drafting/Design, including residential and commercial buildings.
Proficient in AutoCAD software and Revit Architecture.
Working experience in creating and combining assemblies by Revit and other 3D sketch software for a residential, commercial or industrial building.
Provincial Instructor’s Diploma and/or teaching experience at the post secondary level will be preferred
Solid communication skills (excellent command of the English language, both written and oral).

Resume or Curriculum Vitae that includes information about previous courses taught and industry experience
Cover letter indicating areas of teaching interest and teaching philosophy as well as evidence of undergraduate teaching success

This competition is for a maximum FTE of 100% (Regular or NR2). When possible, priority will be given to the candidate(s) who can maximize the FTE either individually, or collectively, as such please indicate on your application your preferred workload percentage. This competition could also be used to add candidates to our Qualified Faculty List, therefore also please indicate on your application if you are interested in being added to this list.

SALARY INFORMATION: Placement on the salary scale will be dependent on level of education and relevant teaching experience. Advancement up the pay scale is based on FTE and employment status.
