Job description

Job Title: CAD Technologist / Draftsperson

We are currently seeking a CAD Technologist / Draftsperson to join our team at our main office located 4 miles south of Melfort, Saskatchewan. This is a full-time, permanent position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week. Applicants must provide their own transportation; remote work is not preferred.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Autodesk software, preferably Inventor / AutoCAD
• Experience in completing structural detail drawings (please provide work samples)
• Understanding of structural design and buildings; architectural knowledge is an asset
• Knowledge of steel fabrication and fabrication detail drawings (asset)
• Proficient in creating Bill of Materials (BOM) and related deliverables
• Strong skills in Microsoft 365 products, especially Excel
• Ability to create 3D CAD models (asset)
• Exposure to CAM software (asset)

Daily Tasks:

• Converting completed CAD 3D models into detailed fabrication drawings
• Transforming structural general arrangement drawings into detailed fabrication sets
• Creating accurate Bill of Materials using Excel or equivalent tools
• Assisting engineers with daily tasks and ongoing projects

• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively
• Independent worker capable of making logical decisions
