Job summary

Amico Corporation in Richmond Hill, ON is seeking a CAD Technician for a part-time contract to convert legacy AutoCAD and Microvellum projects into modern 3D Onshape models. You will recreate 2D drawings as precise 3D assemblies and ensure alignment with established CAD standards, documenting progress and resolving modelling issues.

• Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting, or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of professional AutoCAD drafting experience.
• Strong understanding of technical drawings, dimensions, elevations, sections, and assembly details.
• Experience working with 3D CAD modelling software.
• Ability to interpret detailed architectural or manufacturing drawings.
• Strong attention to accuracy, consistency, and detail.
• Ability to work independently while following standardized processes.

Responsibilities

• Convert existing AutoCAD and Microvellum drawings and projects into Onshape.
• Recreate 2D drawings as accurate, structured 3D models and assemblies.
• Interpret architectural plans, elevations, sections, and manufacturing drawings.
• Follow established CAD standards, modelling procedures, and project templates.
• Verify dimensions, component placement, and assembly accuracy against original drawings.

• Ensure completed models and drawings meet internal quality requirements.

Amico Corporation is seeking detail‑oriented CAD Technicians to support the modernization of our engineering and manufacturing design systems.This is a temporary contract position for 3 months.

Key Responsibilities

• Background in architectural manufacturing, modular wall systems, millwork, cabinetry, or sheet‑metal products.
• Familiarity with assemblies, components, configurations, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Experience converting legacy CAD projects into modern 3D modelling environments.

Salary: $32/hour
