We are looking for an experienced and detail-orientedCAD Structural Designerwith a background insolar energy projectsto join our virtual team. This role involves drafting and designing structural layouts and support systems for residential and/or commercial solar installations. You will collaborate remotely with engineers and project managers to produce accurate, code-compliant, and permit-ready structural drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparestructural layout drawingsfor solar panel mounting systems (roof and ground-mount)

Draftroof framing plans, rafter layouts, truss details, andmounting structure designs

Createcross-sections, attachment details, andstructural support drawings

Modify and revise designs based onengineering feedbackandsite-specific conditions

Ensure structural designs comply withlocal building codes,load calculations, andpermit requirements

Collaborate using tools likeAutoCAD,Google Drive,Slack, andZoom

Maintain organized digital project files and version control

Qualifications:

At least2 years of experiencein CAD structural drafting/design (solar industry experience preferred)

Proficient inAutoCADor similar structural drafting software

Familiarity withsolar mounting systems(e.g., roof-mount, ground-mount, ballast)

Knowledge ofbuilding code compliance,wind/snow loads, and structural integrity requirements

Ability to read and interpretarchitectural, structural, and MEP plans

Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal

Previous experience working remotely or in a VA capacity is a plus
