The CAD Drafter & 3D Modeler is responsible for transforming initial design concepts and sketches into precise technical drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks. This role ensures that all engineering drawings adhere to established specifications, standards, and design intent. Working under general supervision, the modeler follows structured guidelines and collaborates with engineering and design teams to produce accurate representations of internally designed and externally sourced components. These assets support both the product development process and high-quality visualizations for internal and client use.
This role requires strong proficiency in SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM, with the ability to create complex technical drawings and 3D models from initial concepts, sketches, or reference products.
In your first few weeks, you become familiar with our vehicle layouts, design processes, and SolidWorks file structure. You're transforming hand-drawn sketches and verbal input into detailed CAD files, and your 3D models are being used across the design team.
After a few months, you're confidently supporting multiple design projects, producing clean and accurate layouts, and collaborating with engineers and procurement to ensure every part is documented and ready for build. Youve become the go-to person for CAD accuracy, model integration, and making sure our designs meet the highest standards of clarity and consistency.
