Job Description

Job Duties:

  • Under direct supervision, performs basic operations to test and repair downhole cable for submersible pumps and motor equipment.
  • Receives cable and carries out basic tests.
  • Uses hipot machine to make basic repairs and learns how to splice cable.
  • Completes paperwork to send cable to inventory or field.
  • Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations.
  • This is an entry level position where the employee is expected to learn all relevant company HSE policies and procedures and to demonstrate their application into his/her duties.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience preferred but willing to train.
  • Must have a current and valid driver's license and be able to provide a copy of drivers abstract.
  • The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division is required.
  • Basic reading comprehension and writing skills are required.
  • Basic computer skills are preferred.

Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs.Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available, including Cable Technician II and Cable Technician III.
