This is a hands-on, on-site position in a non-kitchen shop environment, with immediate start and potential overtime. You will read blueprints, operate hand tools and maintain strict shop safety standards, delivering precise fitting, finishing and on-site issue resolution to ensure premium results.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in custom cabinetry or architectural millwork.
• Proficient with manual tools and reading technical drawings.
• OHSA safety compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Build high-end custom cabinets and architectural millwork from scratch.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications.
• Operate and maintain manual shop equipment (table saws, edgebanders, etc.).
• Work with solid wood and install premium hardware (hinges, undermount tracks, pocket doors).
• Ensure precision in fitting, leveling, and finishing of components.
• Troubleshoot design issues and resolve onsite challenges independently.

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Temporary Cabinetmaker for an immediate opportunity in Brampton. This role is ideal for a craftsman experienced in manual fabrication and custom architectural millwork. Our shop focuses on high-end, non-kitchen projects and does not use CNC machinery, requiring strong hands-on expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Build high-end custom cabinets and architectural millwork from scratch
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications
• Operate and maintain manual shop equipment (table saws, edgebanders, etc.)
• Work with solid wood and install premium hardware (hinges, undermount tracks, pocket doors)
• Ensure precision in fitting, leveling, and finishing of components
• Troubleshoot design issues and resolve onsite challenges independently

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience in custom cabinetry or architectural millwork preferred
• Strong expertise with manual tools (hand tools, pneumatic tools, drills, lasers)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately
• Solid understanding of shop safety standards (OHSA compliant)
• Physically capable and detail-oriented with strong work ethic
• Background in technical fields or fine arts is an asset
