Job summary

LandSea Camp Services is seeking a Cabin Steward for a service contract aboard the MV Isabelle in Squamish, BC. You will clean and maintain guest staterooms and public areas, make beds, and restock supplies while upholding safety and service standards.

Applicants should have cruise ship or hospitality experience, strong English communication, and the ability to work long shifts in a fast-paced environment. This role includes health benefits and union-aligned pay structures.

Qualifications

About Working on a “Floatel”

LandSea will be providing workforce catering and accommodation services for guests onboard the MV Isabelle, a 650-passenger “Floatel”.

At work, the crew is provided with accommodation, full meals, and WIFI, and can access health/gym facilities when off work. We provide partial uniforms and help with the travel/reservations as needed to and from locations. Excellent Health and Wellness benefits are being offered.

Union Status and Collective Agreement

Your position is unionized and falls within the bargaining unit represented by UNITE HERE! Local 40. The terms and conditions of your employment, including wages, hours of work, and working conditions—are governed entirely by the prevailing Memorandum of Agreement (“MOA”) between Landsea and the Union.

Your base salary will be $22.45/hour. You will also receive overtime pay paid at time and a half for hours worked over 40 hours/week. There will be rotating shifts, and variable start times. You will be entitled to 10 days of paid holiday (or 4% of gross salary). Your compensation strictly complies with the UNITE HERE! Local 40 wage scale for this classification.

About the Opportunity

  • This is for a service contract that will end on January 30th, 2027. We have 6 openings for Cabin Steward in the Housekeeping Department.
  • The Housekeeping department is responsible for maintaining the highest level of cleanliness and service in guest staterooms, public areas, and open decks.
  • Applicants must have prior experience on a cruise ship or within the hospitality industry and an understanding of public health and environment requirements relating to cabin service. Must have the ability to work long shifts in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.Must have good verbal and written communication skills (read, write, and speak English). Meticulous attention to detail and well-developed organizational skills. Strong work ethic with an ability to work independently and as a team player who supports, motivates, and encourages others.
Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for cleaning and maintaining staterooms as well as public areas onboard a vessel.
  • Make beds and clean the bathroom.
  • Provide fresh linens, tidy up, vacuum, empty trash bins and replenish bath amenities as needed.
  • Responsible for delivering important printed notices, such as bulletins or policies.
  • Will be required to assist during safety drills or evacuation.

  • Must provide at least 2 professional work references.
  • Must provide photo identification (PDF of photo ID) to verify identity during virtual interview.

Physical Requirements (must be physically fit to perform the following)

  • Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods.
  • Repeat the same movements including fast, repetitive movements of fingers, hands, and wrists.
  • Use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Use hands to handle objects and tools.

Certifications and Other Requirements

  • All crew members onboard the MV Isabelle must have the minimum marine safety (Seafarers) certifications required by Transport Canada for the specific job.
  • MED STCW Basic Safety Training
  • Marine Basic First Aid
  • MED STCW Survival Craft
  • Passenger Safety Management
  • Ability to clear a drug and alcohol test before hiring and potential random tests throughout employment with prior notice.
  • WHMIS 2015
  • Valid Government Issued Identification
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian, PR Status, or valid Work Permit)
  • Criminal Record Check
  • Able to work the night shift.
  • Available to work multiple rotations including 21-7, 2-2, 4-2, etc.
