LandSea Camp Services is seeking a Baker to join the team onboard the MV Isabelle in Squamish, BC. This temporary contract runs from September 17, 2026 to January 30, 2027, with a 40-hour work week and overtime as applicable. The role includes pastry production, dessert creation, and adherence to food safety and company policies.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, valid food safety certification, and references. Unionized employment under UNITE HERE!

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Bakes and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes, such as cookies, tarts, squares, muffins, cupcakes and other pastry items.
• Produces featured desserts daily, hot or cold, as well as grab and go desserts such as parfaits, tiramisu, Jello, puddings, cakes and crumbles.
• Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment.
• Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, etc.
• Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, etc.
• Safely uses a variety of utensils including knives.
• Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures.
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
• Enforces and upholds LandSea policies and procedures.
• Other duties may be assigned as required.

About Working on a Floatel

LandSea will be providing workforce catering and accommodation services for guests onboard the MV Isabelle, a 650-passenger Floatel.

Union Status and Collective Agreement

Your position is unionized and falls within the bargaining unit represented by UNITE HERE! Local 40. The terms and conditions of your employment, including wages, hours of work, and working conditions are governed entirely by the prevailing Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between Landsea and the Union.

Your base salary will be $26.69/hour. You will also receive overtime pay paid at time and a half for hours worked over 40 hours/week. There will be rotating shifts, and variable start times. You will be entitled to 10 days of paid holiday (or 4% of gross salary). Your compensation strictly complies with the UNITE HERE! Local 40 wage scale for this classification.

About The Opportunity

This is a temporary position for a service contract that will end on January 30th, 2027. We currently have ONE opening for Baker.

Physical Requirements

• Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch for long periods.
• Repeat the same movements including fast, repetitive movements of fingers, hands, and wrists.
• Use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 lbs.
• Use hands to handle objects and tools.
• Must be able to complete 12-hour shift

Certifications And Other Requirements

• All crew members onboard the MV Isabelle must have the minimum marine safety (Seafarers) certifications required by Transport Canada for the specific job.

• MED STCW Survival Craft
• Passenger Safety Management
• Ability to clear a drug and alcohol test before hiring and potential random tests throughout employment with prior notice.
• WHMIS 2015
• Valid Government Issued Identification
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian, PR Status, or valid Work Permit)
• Criminal Record Check
• Able to work the night shift.
• Available to work multiple rotations including 21-7, 2-2, 4-2, etc.
