Role Overview
Genus PLC has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a C# Software Engineer located in DeForest, Wisconsin. You will be part of a growing team using next generation technology to improve decision making and accelerate genetic improvement in bovine and porcine genetics utilizing phenotypic and genomic data as well as production efficiency of instrumentation of sexed cells.
The successful candidate must be a self-starter, resilient, adaptable, and willing to take ownership.
You Will
- Bring Scrum sprint stories to closure as planned, with the ability to address and troubleshoot bottlenecks as they arise and implement a solution.
- Move projects from development to fully functioning production deployment ready.
- Take ownership of major software components in distributed computing.
- Work under tight timelines to solve critical problems in production.
- Adhere to architectural guidelines set forth by the team leads.
- Collaborate with project managers, product managers, instrument production operations teams & IT to understand & groom requirements for the software.
- Develop and maintain multiple large-scale data pipelines, develop tools, pipeline and applications to support acquisition, access, and analysis of data.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications: (required)
- University degree in Computational Sciences, Computer Science or one of the STEM majors.
- A minimum of 3 years of working experience in C#/.net core, MVVM with focus in desktop applications such as WinForm/WPF/AvaloniaUI.
- A minimum of 2 years of working experience with developing responsive applications using asynchronous pattern.
- A minimum of 2 years of working experience in Python or GoLang.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience with databases SQL.
- A minimum of 2 years of working experience in a Linux/Unix and one of the major Cloud platforms: Azure/AWS/ or GCP.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience with modern software development techniques, Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience with Docker.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience with at least one CI/CD tool such as Jenkins/Azure DevOps/TravisCI.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with instrumentation software, biotechnology device industry.
- Experience in data engineering.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
