Job description

C&A Group is looking for a motivated Shipper/Receiver to manage incoming and outgoing shipments, maintain inventory, and support general shop operations. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have strong communication and problem-solving skills, we want to hear from you!


About the Role:

As a Shipper/Receiver, you’ll be responsible for handling all shipping and receiving activities, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring that products and materials are properly stored and delivered. You’ll also assist with vehicle inspections, light maintenance, and general office and shop duties to support the overall efficiency of our operations.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage shipping and receiving documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, and MTR tracking.
  2. Load and unload trucks using a forklift/telehandler and secure loads properly.
  3. Accurately track product and material placement within the facility.
  4. Perform general office duties, including handling phones, copiers, scanners, and faxes.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized shop and yard through regular maintenance and housekeeping.
  6. Package materials and products for shipment according to customer requirements.
  7. Deliver and pick up materials and products from various locations.
  8. Order supplies, parts, and materials as needed to support operations.
  9. Conduct vehicle inspections and perform light maintenance.
  10. Ensure compliance with C&A health and safety programs and all provincial and prime contractor regulations.

Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
  1. Grade 12 diploma with 1–2 years of related experience.
  2. Strong communication skills with staff, clients, suppliers, and service providers.
  3. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other office software.
  4. Ability to safely handle the physical demands of the job (lifting, moving materials).
  5. Experience with powered mobile equipment (forklift/telehandler).
  6. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  7. Valid Class 5 Driver's License (ability to drive a manual transmission).
  8. Ability to work in various environmental conditions (hot/cold).
  9. Professional appearance and positive attitude.
