Job summary

City of Mission seeks an experienced Manager of Bylaws & Licensing on a temporary full-time basis to lead the Bylaws & Licensing division within Protective Services. The role focuses on end-to-end regulatory services, licensing enforcement, and community safety.

The ideal candidate will bring a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration or related field, and at least five years in municipal settings with supervisory experience, plus strong analytical, budget, and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• Five years of progressively responsible municipal experience, including two years of supervisory experience.
• BC Driver’s Licence and membership in a related professional association are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead bylaw enforcement and licensing programs with work plans, budgets, and timelines.
• Coordinate inspections of unsafe, untidy, dangerous, and health-hazard properties.
• Recruit, train, and manage staff; oversee performance and discipline.
• Develop, review, and report on policies, bylaws, and strategic plans.
