    Buyer / Purchasing Associate (Full Time) - Brampton, ON

    Primary Purpose
    This role is responsible for supporting the purchase of hardgoods, equipment and or other non-gas products from a
    predetermined list of suppliers at the lowest cost consistent with consideration of quality, reliability of source, urgency of need, and freight costs. The Buyer works under general supervision and as part of the purchasing team but is expected to be a self-motivated self-starter with a consistent focus on efficiency as well as productivity and process improvements.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Assists with procuring products for business clients, distribution centres, and branch locations from preapproved
      vendors in a timely manner.
    • Maintains operational discipline and compliance of procurement processes by following standard work
      processes that address requirements for Linde’s quality assurance program, and/or policies and procedures.
    • Focuses on key performance indicators through management of various review functions such as: PO
      confirmation workbench, PO expedite report process, open orders reporting, etc.
    • PO ownership from creation, expediting, and invoice resolution.
    • Typically has an assigned group of branch locations to support that may be in different time zones.
    • Reviews branches for needed stock and handles expedite and drop ship orders for those assigned branches.
    • Works with other buyers, assisting in the PO confirmation process, PO Expedite process and backing up for
      other buyers’ duties as needed during sick days or vacations.
    • Maintains business relationships with vendors on a regional basis as a source of sustainable competitive
      advantage to Linde.
    • Proactively seeks new productivity opportunities from internal customers, other Linde regions, and suppliers.
    • Works closely with distribution and supply chain team on productivity goals as well as vendor performance
    • Drives compliance with safety, quality, and productivity goals in support of leadership objectives.
    • Works with sales team on capital equipment purchases and progressive payment orders.
    • Will work collaboratively with other departments such as: sales, logistics, product management, procurement,
      and financial departments.

    Required Qualifications

    • 2+ yrs. experience in a similar role such as procurement, purchasing, sourcing, product management – within a
      similar industry.
    • Degree in Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related fields is an asset.
    • Good understanding of complex commodities chains.
    • Strong understanding of Excel and Microsoft Office Suite required.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a proven ability to multi-task.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
    • Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to meet assigned deadlines.
    • Experience with JDE an asset.
