The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Contracts & Procurement, the Buyer is responsible for procuring low-value goods and services efficiently, adhering to policies and maintaining accurate purchasing system information.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
  • Facilitating procurement of goods and services
  • Expediting and returning goods as required
  • Obtaining pricing and commercial terms for requisitions
  • Maintaining electronic ordering systems
  • Maintaining vendor and item master data
  • Supporting internal and external audits
  • Interacting professionally with staff and vendors
  • Communicating accurately and effectively
  • Prioritizing tasks per departmental guidance
  • Meeting internal client needs promptly and professionally
  • Supporting organizational policies and confidentiality

Hours of Work: Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:00, 70 hours bi-weekly.

Your Qualifications
  • Graduate from a recognized two-year Business Administration or Supply Chain Management Diploma Program, or Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Business, or SCMP, or recognized equivalent.
  • Additional courses in procurement, logistics, supply chain, inventory management, etc., may be required.
  • Minimum six (6) months related experience required.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Purchasing in a computerized healthcare setting preferred.
  • Ability to negotiate with vendors is required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with SAP is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and multi-tasking skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with inter-professional teams.
  • High initiative, diligence, attention to detail, and self-discipline.
  • Commitment to continual learning and team development.
  • Additional language skills are assets.
