As a Buyer working in the Major Projects team at Pomerleau Construction, you will own the management of purchasing various materials as required by our office and worksite needs. Supporting our large-scale building and infrastructure projects – ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion - you will act as a key project resource through your contributions in ensuring our teams have exactly what they need.

What you will do

• Successfully manage the ordering and procurement of construction materials and warehouse supplies for our local projects.
• You like to learn about product innovations and find new suppliers across Canada.
• You keep up to date on all out-of-stock products, reconciling delivery and purchase orders and approving invoices.
• You have the ability to build excellent relationships with suppliers and negotiate successfully to obtain the best possible quotes.
• You work closely with our logistics team to arrange the occasional transport of materials.
• Arrange occasional transportation of materials.
• Successfully plan product bundles for annual agreements.

This role could be for you if you have

• Certification of college education (AEC) in procurement management and/or a degree in accounting and management and/or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of experience in a similar position, in the construction and/or hardware industry (an asset).
• A great command of Excel for the organization of your work.
• Expertise in construction materials and tools.
