Job Summary

The incumbent will be responsible for the Sites’ indirect Purchasing activities, including Supplier Selection & Rationalization, Cost Negotiations, and Inventory Management. The buyer will execute purchases aligned with budgetary and forecasting parameters to support business needs, identify opportunities, and implement initiatives to improve site efficiencies. The role involves responding to procurement needs for goods and services to support the site’s operations.

Principal Responsibilities :

• Manage Indirect Items Site Purchasing
• Handle Supplier relations and Cost-saving initiatives
• Execute purchases considering budgets and forecasts to support business operations
• Implement efficiency improvement initiatives
• Provide guidance to Plant personnel as Procurement Representatives
• Monitor supplier performance and supply chain risks
• Use Planning or Requisitioning Systems for requirements analysis and purchase order creation
• Sourcing & Procurement of Indirect Items as needed
• Manage inventory levels through KANBAN / Min-Max systems
• Negotiate pricing and Supply Agreements, re-evaluate existing contracts, and maintain supplier relationships
• Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing on contract implementation and commercial activities

Qualifications & Experience :

• Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration
• Minimum 5 years’ purchasing experience in manufacturing
• SCMP / CPM accreditation is an asset
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of the Thermoplastics pipe and fittings industry is an asset
• Excellent negotiation and teamwork skills
• Strong organization, prioritization, and attention to detail
• Analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
