TSG STAFFING SERVICES is currently recruiting for a BUYER/EXPEDITOR (JUNIOR/INTERMEDIATE) for an Edmonton area-based opportunity to work in an operating plant environment.

Job Description:

• Working closely with the Business Unit to support future purchasing needs by developing procurement strategy, RFI, RFP, and demand forecasting.
• Collaborate with the Business unit to fully understand the site's process, priorities, needs, goals, and opportunities.
• Support all site Project activities with quick and flawless execution, including purchasing material and expediting it to ensure it is on-site and ready for planned execution dates.
• Identifying materials purchased for each site and coordinate evaluation and addition of materials to price agreements.
• Create value through RFI, and RFP activities to bring innovation and create competition.
• Spend channel optimization to support ordering material through automated channels.
• Supplier setup, updates and assist in the communication & implementation of new contracts at sites.
• Meeting individual and department goals & objectives targets identified by management.
• Performing additional tasks as defined by the Site Procurement Manager.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma with 5 years’ experience in a related environment and/or University degree with 3 years’ experience.
• Enrollment in and/or completion of PMAC/Strategic Supply Chain Management Leadership Program considered an asset.
• Good understanding of the competitive bid process and all associated bid types such as RFI’s, RFP’s, RFQ’s.
• ERP systems knowledge.
• Good understanding of the basics in contract development, contract law and competitive bid law.
• Good understanding of purchasing policies and procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Access.
• Strong work ethic, demonstrate self-motivation, with the capacity to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Takes an active role in achieving the departments goals and initiatives in all aspects of work.
• Manages own job with prioritization, organizational, and goal-setting skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
