Position Overview

TSG STAFFING SERVICES is currently recruiting for a BUYER / EXPEDITOR (JUNIOR / INTERMEDIATE) for an Edmonton-based opportunity in an operating plant environment.

Responsibilities:
  1. Support future purchasing needs by developing procurement strategies, RFI, RFP, and demand forecasting.
  2. Collaborate with the Business Unit to understand the site's processes, priorities, needs, and goals.
  3. Support site project activities with quick and flawless execution, including purchasing and expediting materials to ensure on-site readiness.
  4. Identify materials purchased for each site, coordinate evaluation, and add materials to price agreements.
  5. Create value through RFI and RFP activities to foster innovation and competition.
  6. Optimize spend channels to support automated material ordering.
  7. Assist in supplier setup, updates, and communication of new contracts at sites.
  8. Meet individual and departmental goals as set by management.
  9. Perform additional tasks as defined by the Site Procurement Manager.
Requirements:
  1. High school diploma with 5 years’ experience or a University degree with 3 years’ experience.
  2. Enrollment in or completion of PMAC / Strategic Supply Chain Management Leadership Program is an asset.
  3. Understanding of the bid process, including RFI’s, RFP’s, RFQ’s.
  4. ERP systems knowledge.
  5. Basic understanding of contract development, law, and procurement policies.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  7. Strong work ethic, self-motivated, capable of working independently and in teams.
  8. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
