Position Summary

Under supervision, coordinates purchasing activities to meet forecasts and processes requests promptly. Places orders based on MRP requirements, verifies prices and delivery dates, and may administer EDI programs. Expediting and supplier delivery monitoring are involved. Researches new supply sources, typically working with a limited AVL list.

Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement of commodities to optimize the supply chain, ensuring defect-free materials at the lowest total cost.
  • Analyze situations / data to evaluate factors and make informed decisions.
  • Network with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Make responsible decisions within scope, escalating issues as needed.
  • Maintain supplier base, negotiate supply agreements, and ensure supply continuity.
  • Contribute to cost analysis and develop supplier relationships.
  • Provide market insights and guidance to team members.
  • Lead and mentor less experienced staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years related experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Strong understanding of MRP and Oracle.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple demands.
  • Customer-focused and team-oriented.
