Job summary

Spectrum Control in Kanata, ON, is seeking a Buyer to manage raw materials and MRO purchases to meet shipment, margin and inventory goals. You will work with suppliers, review prices and delivery schedules, and maintain accurate procurement records in the MRP system.

Under guidance, you will evaluate sources, set up new suppliers, and coordinate with production and quality teams to ensure on-time materials availability while controlling costs and risks.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• 3–5 years of purchasing/procurement experience.
• Ability to read blueprints or drawings.
• Understanding of purchasing methods and MRP.
• Experience with procurement in manufacturing.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Expedite parts and materials using MRP messages and manage inventory levels.
• Order, quote, reschedule and cancel parts and enter data into the MRP system.
• Maintain procurement records including costs, delivery and inventory.
• Plan, schedule and monitor material movement through production using spreadsheets.
• Engage with vendors to obtain price, availability and delivery schedule.
