Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Mississauga, is a manufacturer of precision machined aerospace components. We are seeking a Buyer to purchase supplies, standard parts, tools, mill supplies, production materials, or capital equipment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Maintain liaison with suppliers for information requirements.
  • Identify potential vendors, initiate tenders based on commodity requirements.
  • Evaluate tenders and recommend based on price, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Review delivery schedules and costs with originators.
  • Negotiate and purchase requirements at reduced costs where applicable.
  • Initiate and approve Purchase Orders.
  • Manage expedite / de-expedite requests to support internal requirements.
  • Communicate potential supplier issues impacting price, quality, or delivery.
  • Maintain records and documentation in accordance with regulations.
  • Support purchasing activities with required information.

Position Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience as a Buyer, preferably in aerospace manufacturing.
  • College or University education.
  • PMAC certification or working towards it.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
