Job summary

Mastronardi Produce Limited, headquartered in Kingsville, ON, seeks a Buyer to join our Strategic Sourcing team. You will execute day-to-day purchasing activities, support strategic initiatives, and ensure supplier performance aligns with our PRIDE values.

Responsibilities include expediting, inventory analysis, and collaboration with Sales/Marketing to forecast demand for events and campaigns. University degree in Finance or Business Administration is required.

Responsibilities

• Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery through daily expediting and ERP dates.
• Procure materials and finished goods per quality/engineering specs.
• Work to budget or cost targets and identify discrepancies.
• Resolve supplier non-conformances and recover costs from suppliers for rework.
• Resolve PO vs invoice discrepancies.
• Perform inventory analysis to avoid stockouts/overstock.
• Analyze root causes of inventory issues and provide resolutions.
• Collaborate with Sales/Marketing to develop demand for events and campaigns.

Our Kingsville Head Office Location is currently seeking a Buyer to join our Strategic Sourcing team. The essential function of this position is to assist in the execution of the day to day purchasing activities and support the implementation of strategic initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Follow up with suppliers to ensure on time delivery through daily expediting, including ERP system dates and communication with the Purchasing team
• Procure materials and finished goods as assigned for customer deliverable products in accordance with quality and engineering specs
• Work to budget or cost targets and identify any discrepancies
• Resolve supplier non-conformances and recover costs from suppliers for rework
• Resolve discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices
• Perform inventory analysis and management, avoiding low stock, overstock and obsolete inventory
• Analyze root causes of inventory issues and provide resolutions
• Collaborate with other departments to reduce excess inventory
• Coordinate with Sales and Marketing to develop demand requirements for events, promotions, shows, campaigns, product launches and stocking orders
• Establish and implement supplier guidelines, obligations and service levels for the department
• Support and contribute to the company Lean efforts
• Support the collection of data and implementation of MPL procurement initiatives
• Define and maintain policies and procedures for the department
• Provide support to the Purchasing department
• Keep all company information confidential
• Follow all company rules and regulations at all times
• Other duties as assigned
• University degree in Finance, Business Administration required
• At least two years of purchasing experience

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Strong forecasting and budgeting skills
• Proven abilities in multi-tasking, attention to detail, self-motivation and team environments
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Office
• Spanish-speaking an asset
