Holcim is planning to spin-off its North American Business to unleash its full potential, capitalizing on North America’s oversized growth in construction led by the modernization of infrastructure, a surge in advanced manufacturing and AI operation and the growth of resilient cities.
Holcim plans to list the new company on the NYSE by the end of the first half of 2025 and establish its operations headquarters in the US to be fully dedicated to serving the North American market and pursue a growth strategy across the region.
The newly listed company will become North America’s leading building solutions company, with industry-leading market position to meet its customers’ greatest ambitions with the most advanced building solutions from foundation to rooftop.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Buyer will support and execute the operational and tactical procurement of goods and services within a designated region. This role works closely with the Procurement Manager, Procurement Specialists, and local business teams to implement procurement strategies and ensure seamless procurement operations at the regional level.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Support and execute the procurement of goods and services in accordance with category strategies, as well as applicable policies, procedures, and specifications.
- Drive the realization of savings, supply efficiency, quality, and process improvements in the region you are responsible to create purchase orders for.
- Generate RFQ’s in accordance with procurement policy in collaboration with operations and other stakeholders, where required.
- Create local purchase orders for supplies, equipment and services within authorized signature limits with pre-qualified suppliers.
- Support individual category projects and initiatives at the local level.
- Provide Category and Operational Management with information and support for the integration of local volumes, processes, quality levels and prices into strategy development.
- Co-ordinate with the business and shared service center regarding resolution on P2P issues as they occur and perform root cause analysis to ensure that best practices are captured and shared amongst team.
- Coach requisitioners on Buyways and P2P process to enhance their understanding of purchasing process and the use of SAP.
- Maintain the Integrity of spend classification and other PO requirements.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Diploma or University Degree
Field of Study Preferred:Business, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent
Required Work Experience: Previous experience in a procurement role with exposure to supply chain management, strategic sourcing and optimal procurement processes and standards
Required Technical Skills: Microsoft Office, Google Apps Suite, SAP

- Good written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively/convincingly at most levels (including technical and operational) and with most functions in the local language.
- Effective time management, planning and organization skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and drive tasks to completion in a fixed time-frame and in a pressured environment.

- Ensure compliance with internal control procedures - communicating problems in operations, unwarranted deviations from established standards, and violations of policy or law.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
