Job description

Reporting to the Manager of Maintenance, Automation and Supply Chain, you will be proficient in executing the purchase to pay (P2P) process, including strategic sourcing, contract negotiation and analysis, issuance of Purchase Orders (POs), and troubleshooting related issues. You will advise and counsel other business units and end users in the P2P process, ensuring adherence to controls and governance frameworks while maintaining service levels. Additionally, you will provide administrative and commercial support for daily Supply Chain functions, including vendor relationship management, onboarding new vendors, inventory management, and conducting competitive bid processes. The ideal candidate is friendly, efficient, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time role based in Calgary, offering a flexible work environment with remote work options one day per week.

Candidates should have a post-secondary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Finance, along with at least 5 years of Supply Chain experience in the Canadian Oil and Gas sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the P2P process, providing guidance and support to end users and business units to ensure effective utilization and compliance with governance requirements.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to establish contracts and purchase orders for procurement of goods and services.
  • Lead sourcing initiatives, involving relevant stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Support senior buyers in negotiating complex contracts, including terms and conditions.
  • Assist in procurement activities through strategic sourcing, vendor selection, and purchase order issuance.
  • Develop strategies to consolidate spending, reduce vendor base, and maximize value.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities.
  • Manage key vendor relationships, including performance metrics development.
  • Ensure contracts are managed according to the Master Service Agreement (MSA).
  • Work proactively with stakeholders to identify procurement needs and new supply sources.
  • Create and maintain a preferred vendor list.
  • Support onboarding of new vendors as needed.
  • Maintain vendor relationships by promptly addressing inquiries.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Finance with a specialization in Supply Chain.
  • Over 5 years of Supply Chain experience in the Canadian oil and gas industry.
  • Experience with Maximo Purchasing platform is an asset.
  • Knowledge of bidding procedures and the P2P process.
  • Understanding of procurement contract terms and conditions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments including finance, operations, facilities, drilling, and legal.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage priorities.
  • Capable of meeting deadlines and working under pressure.
