Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Business Unit Leader (BUL) for Mobility Advisory (Transportation Planning), Western Canada for the Mobility Global Business Area (GBA) in Canada.This position will report to the Business Unit Director (BUD) for Mobility Advisory Canada and will lead our Mobility Advisory team in western Canada, including in BC and AB. The role can be based in either province. As a Business Unit Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a growing team and profitably growing the Mobility Advisory business in western Canada with GBA Mobility strategy and financial targets.

Role accountabilities:

Implementing the Mobility strategy:

• Lead the western Canada business unit with ultimate accountability for P&L performance, service quality delivery within the unit; develop and oversee the implementation of the strategy to ensure service quality delivery, service excellence and profitable growth within the unit, to support the delivery of the line of business objectives. The BUL must be able to prioritise and be responsive tobusiness needs as they arise
• Lead, motivate and develop a diverse team of discipline leaders/senior specialists and their teams by recruiting, setting objectives and reviewing performance to ensure staff are developed, driven and have the necessary skills to deliver the programme objectives
• Develop and implement the region business plan for the unit and ensure the team understand it, and the role that they play in its achievement, through the development of the appropriate culture and the provision of context and clarity
• Lead the identification and targeting of clients through the delivery of service excellence to deliver growth in organic revenue and win work in the country business unit

Build strong relationships and create successful teams:

• Collaborate with the BUL for Ontario and eastern Canada to expand our practice across the country
• Collaborate with the Design and Engineering Business Unit in Western Canada
• Develop enduring relationships with clients to understand their business needs and ensure client satisfaction to improve retention and deliver organic revenue growth
• Coach and mentor discipline leaders, service managers, project managers and technical managers within the Business Unit to ensure all projects are set up for success and appropriate governance is adhered to, with the goal ofimproved client satisfaction
• Lead the identification of talent in the business unit in both technical and project delivery capability and sales and promote career development by directing individuals who are identified, to the appropriate talent management development programs
• Lead decisions on resource utilisation within the business unit and maintain the integrity of the unit composition and pyramid management structure to enable resource optimisation
• Lead the identification and management of risk in service delivery and ensure compliance with governance processes in the business unit to lead to service excellence and client satisfaction
• Maintain an in-depth and up-to-date understanding of the business unit’s clients and the market to identify key trends and emerging opportunities
• Develop relationships throughout Arcadis to foster cooperation and to maximise opportunities to cross-sell and trade-up

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's or master's degree
• At least 20 years of experience leading and growing a significant business function within a professional services firm
• You will be able to inspire multi-disciplinary teams around a common purpose and demonstrate significant leadership capability

The salary range for this position is $138,700 - $188,700. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
