Job Summary

Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC's Technology and Operations division. GFT collaborates with partners across the company to deliver innovative IT solutions for areas including Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking, and Wealth Management. We also develop digital tools to enhance collaboration.

What will you do?

  1. Define and refine scope for real-time fraud detection applications by collaborating with stakeholders in an agile environment.
  2. Gather and define functional and non-functional requirements using user stories, use cases, diagrams, and process maps.
  3. Design and document data flows and develop comprehensive Data Dictionaries.
  4. Collaborate with Architects, BAs, and Development teams to define data schemas based on business requirements.
  5. Analyze and document system requirements related to legal, compliance, and fraud prevention.
  6. Work closely with technology teams to ensure high-quality integrations that meet all requirements.
  7. Manage risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies within fraud and external teams.
  8. Support QA and Business teams in defining and executing test plans for FST and UAT cycles.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant Business Systems Analyst experience in a large-scale corporate setting.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Experience gathering business process requirements and translating them into technical specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Legal / Fraud detection mindset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of legal frameworks, risk management, and compliance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Organizational and facilitation skills for technical sessions.
  • Knowledge of APIs, Kafka, Elasticsearch, SQL, and data science concepts.
  • Experience with Agile frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and SAFe.
  • Proficiency with Confluence, JIRA, Visio, or Lucidchart.

Nice to have

  • Experience in Canadian retail and commercial banking.
  • Knowledge of ISO20022 payment messages.
  • Certifications like CBAP, Agile certifications.
