We are looking for a skilled and driven Business Analyst to join the Back Office IT team. This role supports business-critical systems by analyzing processes, improving application functionality, and delivering data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of software and web application lifecycles, along with hands-on experience in SQL and business reporting. This position is a great fit for someone who thrives in a hybrid technical / business environment and enjoys solving real-world problems through collaboration, analysis, and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business processes, gather requirements, and contribute to the design of practical, high-impact IT solutions.
• Support and enhance web-based applications, ensuring system reliability and alignment with business needs.
• Investigate and resolve issues in financial data or reporting by analyzing source data using SQL and other tools.
• Translate business needs into technical requirements and assist in the planning and execution of new functionality.
• Create and execute test plans, support deployments, and document operational procedures.
• Generate operational reports and dashboards using tools such as SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or Sigma.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, developers, and vendors to manage small-to-medium initiatives and improve system performance.
• Contribute to Agile project workflows and participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst, with a focus on IT and software / web development environments.

Proficient in SQL with demonstrated experience in querying and validating complex data sets.

Familiarity with tools such as DataGrip, Toad, or similar IDEs for database exploration.

Hands-on experience with BI and reporting tools including Tableau, Power BI, Sigma, or SSRS.

Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and Agile methodologies.

Clear and effective communicator with the ability to engage both technical and business audiences.

Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying and solving problems.

Bonus : exposure to scripting (Python, PowerShell), financial operations, or energy industry systems.
