Department Overview :

Global Trade Finance Operations International processing hub is in Montreal with spoke locations in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Houston and Singapore. We are a team of over 85 experienced professionals who offer a full range of trade products and provide world class service to our customers located all over the globe.

Advanced knowledge and understanding of the Trade Finance products, business processes and procedures, and transaction lifecycle for own area (e.g., processing environment, applications, products)

  • Experienced level of the role with advanced business and operational knowledge or related skills required.
  • Ability to execute on ad-hoc non-routine requests.
  • Identifies and investigates non-standard operational / reporting / process issues.
  • Provides recommendations or escalates issues to appropriate area.
  • Provides regular analysis and / or reporting to support business partners, functional areas or centers of expertise.
  • Requires working professional level knowledge of the functional area and / or business areas supported.
  • Experienced level of complexity in operational / reporting / process and / or analysis function requiring a short to medium term focus

  • Provide training to others on best practices, processes, etc. as well as guide staff for the completion of business-as-usual functions.
  • JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Represent the team as the first point of escalation for customers / internal clients / business partners on Trade Finance products and processes for Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Standby LCs, Documentary Collections, Supply Chain.
  • Contribute to the identification, development and implementation of new Trade Finance products, operating workflow, additional services / products / applications, or operational efficiencies for Trade Finance Operations
  • Support change management projects or programs that impact the business, functions or processes and ensure clear communication and documentation of new processes.
  • Maintain effective day-to-day operations and deliver quality service to clients / internal clients / business partners by acting as a key resource and providing deep technical subject matter expertise.
  • Build and foster effective mutually beneficial relations with clients, Operations, Origination teams, and other key internal partners that provide critical support to the execution of Trade Finance Operations priorities.
  • Analyze service delivery issues and identify potential solutions that enhance the customer experience and support TD Securities business objectives.
  • Manage time sensitive inquiries and escalations from clients, internal partners and other key support partners related to service, performance, compliance, and other risk related issues.
  • Apply knowledge of Trade Finance systems, processes, and regulations in resolving escalated system production issues from Operations and client issues – ensure communication with key stakeholders.
  • Provide support during Trade Finance system implementations of new processes, changes and / or technology that address production gaps.
  • Produce consolidated or aggregated baseline reports and provide accurate and thorough analysis on related data to provide insight to Operations and Executives
  • Protect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks and escalate non-standard, or other activities as appropriate.
  • Participate, facilitate, and lead meetings and discussions with key internal stakeholders, including GTB executives, Origination, Product Team and Operations
  • Act as a challenge and change agent, identifying and driving improvements / efficiencies through understanding and dissecting end to end processes.
  • Requires to be available during some Canadian Statutory Holidays on rotational basis to cover our multiple province holidays, US & UK business.
  • Requires to be available on weekends for system enhancement validations.
  • Hybrid role currently minimum 2 days per week in the office.
