Job description

The Finance department is seeking to expand its team with a skilled professional who has a passion for numbers and a strong understanding of financial systems. If you believe your skills align with our needs, we are eager to meet you.

The Opportunity

The Business Solutions team in the Finance department acts as a bridge between business needs and technical solutions. This team manages various integrated finance systems used within the department and across the institution. Reporting to the Team Lead, Finance Reporting and Analytics, you will collaborate closely with Finance leaders and other stakeholders to provide technical support, improve business processes, and develop reports. Your role involves system administration, report building, and customizing models to meet SAIT’s evolving business requirements. You will also develop reports using Adaptive and Argos, applying your technical knowledge to align with data structures and business needs.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting issues, documentation, training, system reconciliation, and identifying process improvements and system enhancements.

Key Responsibilities/Major Duties
  1. Develop and maintain financial reports.
  2. Support configuration and enhancement of Adaptive, Argos, Tableau, and other finance reporting systems.
  3. Gather requirements and develop financial reports for SAIT.
  4. Work with the Team Lead and Business Analyst to improve reporting processes.
  5. Coach and mentor Business Analysts, ensuring quality and accuracy of reports.
  6. Identify training needs and clarify expectations for staff.
  7. Lead change initiatives within the Finance department related to business processes and systems.
  8. Address complex business challenges under guidance from leadership.
  9. Provide coverage for the Team Lead and Business Analyst as needed.
Qualifications, Certifications, or Designations
  1. Post-secondary degree or diploma in IS or Business.
  2. Minimum of 3 years' experience in report development and SQL.
  3. Experience with reporting systems such as Adaptive, Argos, Tableau, or PowerBI.
  4. Advanced skills in Microsoft 365, especially Excel.
  5. Preferred qualifications include a Business Intelligence Certification, experience with financial modeling, and extensive SQL experience.
Managerial and Confidential Duties
  1. Mentor and review work of Business Analysts.
  2. Provide feedback to management on team members’ performance.
  3. Participate in interviews and hiring processes.

Salary range: $65,000 - $90,000

Hours per week: 37.5
