Job description

The Capital Markets Solutions Department, part of the Business Services sector, is seeking a business analyst with experience in capital markets to support projects within Capital Markets. In this role, the analyst will assess internal client needs to design and build business and ITsolutions. They will help coordinate and implement development initiatives and ITpatches, as well as contribute to foundational solution design for various trading desks, such as the fixed-income and equity desks, and address regulatory and operational requirements. They will work closely with the project sponsor, project manager, architects, product owner and ITteams to ensure smooth project execution. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Analyze client needs and business processes to ensure alignment with organizational objectives

  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand their equity and securities financing requirements

  • Prepare and present clear, concise business deliverables to key players (front office, middle office, back office, Finance, Legal, Compliance, etc.), including the target operating model, business requirements with use cases, impacted processes, implementation strategy and traceability matrix

  • Document the life cycle of equity and securities financing activities (such as bond/securities lending/borrowing, global repo market)

  • Support the assessment of the feasibility, design and execution phases of projects by building needs registers, drafting RFIs and RFPs, defining roles and responsibilities, and identifying risks and key players

  • Ensure alignment and integration with the ITecosystem and architectural standards

  • Develop and maintain unit testing strategies

  • Participate in agile ceremonies and help enhance solutions and systems

  • Identify and document opportunities to improve work methods and processes

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • A minimum of sixyears of relevant experience as a business analyst delivering business solutions in the capital markets sector, with a focus on inventory financing and fixed income

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Experience in leading focused business discussions that drive concrete decisions

  • Knowledge of French is required

  • Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients

  • Expertise in managing end-to-end business solutions, including trading platforms, position and inventory management, valuation, settlement, accounting and risk

  • Skilled in communicating effectively with executive key players, ensuring transparency around issues, decisions and project progress

  • Demonstrated ability to take a proactive approach by consistently preparing structured agendas and clear action plans for meetings

  • Proficiency in collaborating with IT and agile teams
