As the Business Process Coordinator, you'll be at the forefront of enhancing our procurement, contract management, and supply chain functions. Reporting to the Continuous Improvement Team Lead, you'll leverage your analytical skills to provide critical insights that directly inform Council, Corporate, Departmental, and Branch-level decisions.
You'll not only identify trends and emerging challenges but also pinpoint opportunities for impactful improvements and drive them forward with strategic recommendations. What will you do?
- Develop data-collection approaches/methodology related to procurement, contract management and supply chain functions
- Prepare background material, conduct statistical analysis
- Analyze results and produce reports, develop conclusions, draft and present reports for a variety of ongoing, project based and ad-hoc reports and studies as directed by Continuous Improvement Team Lead
- Review, analyze and report on various data sources available from procure-to-pay and supply chain management processes, policies and systems
- Plan, conduct and implement internal and external environmental analyses to support the research required related to procurement, contract management, purchasing and supply chain functions
- Develop reports and presentations to senior leaders, council, committees, the Executive Leadership Team and Branch Management team
- Coordinate and prepare responses for cross-departmental requests
- Work as part of the section team reviewing, recommending and assisting with the implementation of business process improvements
- Design and implement new or improved business processes to align with organizational goals and improve Branch efficiency
- Develop training plans and programs to support and sustain implemented and existing business processes
Qualifications- University degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Data Science, Public administration
- A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in a combination of strategic/operational planning, working with corporate performance measures and budgets, policy development and leadership and project management experience
Assets:
- A Master degree in a related field is an asset.
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) is a strong asset
Skills required for success:
- Research and analysis procedure knowledge and experience
- Statistical techniques familiarity
- Advanced skills with Google Suite, especially Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slide, Diagram, Draw.io
- Experience with data analysis tools and software such as Power BI, Python, Advanced Google Sheets and SPSS
- Familiarity with Continuous Improvement tools and techniques such as Lean Six Sigma, methodology and process mapping software
- Familiarity with development and review of training material to align with established business processes
- Understanding of business process mapping and analysis is required
- Experience with developing presentations for executives and senior leadership
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in report creation and analysis
- Experience working with procurement, contract management, purchasing and supply chain functions is a strong asset
- Working experience of SAP, SAP Ariba and/or M5 is a strong asset
Work Environment:
- Note: This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite as per the Letter of Understanding between the City of Edmonton and Civic Service Union 52.
