Status: Full-Time Admin

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Minimum Starting Salary: $95,579; starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience.

About The Barrett Centre For Technology Innovation At Humber

The Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation is a new facility built to inspire innovation through collaboration and is part of Humber’s Centre of Innovation network. We bring together industry, students and faculty to solve real world challenges and promote science, technology, engineering, art and math outreach with industry and community partners. We work closely with all faculties across Humber to provide the resources they require to complete capstone, applied research projects and support skills development. We are supported by Humber’s Advanced Manufacturing Skills Consortium: some of the leading technology and innovation companies in Canada. About The Role

Under the direction of the Director, for the Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation, the Business Operations Manager provides overall administration, operating and financial support, development, and support services delivery to the Barrett CTI in an efficient and timely manner. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: managing financial planning, budgeting and forecast process, human resources activities (preparing contracts for training and staffing, supervision and management of P/T, F/T staffing, STEM and work study-students), management and supervision of the BCTI Reception; accurate “on-boarding and off-boarding” of all full-time and part-time employees; co-ordination and management of all Facilities and IT requests, overseeing BCTI RMS reservation process and deployment; management and co-ordination of procurement processes to support BCTI operations; managing existing and new partnership agreements, including reporting on financial and deliverables tracking; overseeing BCTI website and marketing contents. Due to the nature of operations in the Barrett CTI, this is a full-time, in person position.

Education

  • The successful candidate will have a post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Business Management, or a related discipline; An MBA is preferred.
  • Accreditation in Project Management (PMP, PMI) can be a plus.

Experience/Skills

  • 5-7 years in a proven business operations or business management experience, preferably within a technology environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management tools and data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau).
  • Leadership: Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing teams; and ability to lead and motivate staff and teams.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Finance: Demonstrated effective fiscal responsibility in addressing cost management challenges; and proven experience in forecasting and budgeting.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to assess operational performance and implement improvements.
  • Time Management: Exceptional time management and organizational skills
