A leading global commercial explosives firm in Laval, Canada, is seeking a Business Manager to oversee financial and operational activities. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, 10+ years of experience in financial management, and leadership skills, preferably in the explosives industry. What You’ll Do
As the Business Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day financial & operational activities of a region. She/he will manage a series of cross-functional individuals to achieve the financial targets within the designated timeframe , as well as acting as the key finance business partner for the general manager. Other duties include:
Plan, lead, and control all financial responsibilities as established in procedures and guidelines set by the Company primarily in the areas of business case development, performance reporting, budgeting, forecasting and customer service.
Financial Reporting – Serves as the primary contact for weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting
Accurate reporting of monthly results, free of material miss-statement
To ensure that the WO adheres to DNA accounting policies (must be supported by the GM).
Manage AR, which includes – PTC, Credit Limit development and compliance
Oversee the AR, AP, Customer invoicing & product shipments. Own the local PO process and responsible for resolving AP & AR issues.
Targets lowest cost to do business without compromising operations and HSEQ standards
Supports the bidding and quoting process, including preparation of financial models and preparation of business case documents
Provides forecast based on sales data and market trends
Drives the IBP process and interfaces with commercial team to review demand forecasts
Ensures contract terms are upheld and contract pricing enforced
Ensure Legal as reviewed and approved all contracts prior to being executed
Implement proper inventory management processes and ensure operational teams are performing cycle counts and adequately accounting for obsolete and slow-moving inventory
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s Degree required , MBA or other Master’s Degree preferred.
10+ years related experience
Experience with P&L ownership and analysis, financial reporting, product pricing (retail), regulatory compliance and human resources
7+ years people management skills including leadership, performance management and coaching.
Experience in the Explosives Industry, Operational & / or Commercial, or Small Business Management
Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite and other software, especially spreadsheet applications, SAP, Planful, PowerBI.
