Job Description

Reporting to the Regional Manager for Software Controls, the Business Leader is a highly critical and visible role. Your territory will cover Western Canada, with travel up to 50%.

Business Unit Leaders are a commercial & technical resource for a segment or portion of Rockwell Automation's portfolio (Software & Control). You will maximize and manage the sales of their portfolio within an assigned geography by supporting sales activities, launching new products, ensuring RA Sales and channel to market product competency, providing commercial program support, and marketing activities. You will advise on proposals, pricing, and sales pursuit strategies and provide department feedback on product/service gaps and development needs for your assigned markets.

What You Will Do
  • Ensure regional selling resources maintain the appropriate competencies across assigned products and services.
  • Cooperate with the sales force in promoting the product offerings.
  • Lead the launch of new products to the sales force and channel.
  • Plan and execute commercial programs related to product responsibility.
  • Define and articulate product differentiators and values versus competition.
  • Provide timely information to support effective management of the business to all levels.
  • Analyze competitive product lines and strategies to define differentiators.
  • Participate in trade shows, seminars, webinars, and other marketing activities.
  • Plan and execute technical and commercial training for sales organizations and the ecosystem.
  • Ensure market access partners can articulate value and identify opportunities for new products and technologies.
  • Provide product gap and development feedback to the appropriate teams.
The Essentials - You Will Have
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time or more.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US; sponsorship is not available.
  • Current, valid driver’s license.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have
  • Business acumen in manufacturing, industrial distribution, OEM, or system integration markets.
  • Minimum 8 years of solution, application, and sales experience.
  • Knowledge of competitors and industry trends.
  • Experience working with all levels of customer personas, including C-level and plant management, with knowledge of automation technologies.
  • Marketing skills and experience in planning and executing sales strategies.
