Under the direction of the Manager, Information & Reporting - Alberta, the Business Intelligence Specialist Level II (Cognos) - Alberta is responsible for the creation and management of business intelligence analytics solutions that turn data into knowledge.

Essential Responsibilities

• Responsible for delivering corporate reporting and BI projects.
• Transformation of business needs into BI solutions.
• Design, build, and deploy BI reporting solutions.
• Maintain and support data analytics and corporate reporting.
• Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting.
• Evaluate, improve, and upgrade existing BI systems.
• Provide data analysis via the execution of database queries.
• Create visualizations and reports for requested projects.
• Develop and update technical documentation.
• Maintain workplace professionalism and contribution to team-related efforts.
• Follow corporate business policies and procedures.
• Business analysis and requirements gathering.
• Business process improvement and implementation.
• Other duties as required.

• Post secondary education in Computing Sciences, Information Technology or related field, is an asset.
• Minimum of 5-7 years as a Business Intelligence Specialist preferably in the automotive and/or insurance industry is required.
• Cognos V11 is required.
• Cognos 10 is an asset.
• Cognos V11 Framework Manager is required.
• Cognos V11 Administration is required.
• Cognos V11 Report Studio is required.
• Cognos V11 Dashboards is required.
• Cognos SDK is an asset.
• Multi-Language Reporting is an asset.
• SQL is required.
• OLAP is required.
• Cognos Transformer is required.
• Cognos Impromtu is required.
• Data Engineering is an asset.
• Data Modeling is an asset.
• Data Warehousing is an asset.
• IBMi is an asset.
• Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) is required.
• Fluent in English with proven competencies in verbal and written communication is required.
• Fluent in French with proven competencies in verbal and written communication is an asset.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, education verification, license and certification verification (where applicable), and employment reference checks is required before employment.
