We are looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer to join our Business Intelligence team in our Montreal, Toronto or Vancouver office!

As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will work with a dedicated team whose goal is to leverage data and provide autonomy, enabling them to make sound data-driven decisions.

Your day as a Business Intelligence Engineer

  • Understand & Develop RLS modules while maintaining the existing ones
  • Build Business cubes to curate datasets
  • Undertake data analysis initiatives to support the business
  • Understand structure of enterprise data to translate into reporting design
  • Work with Physical and Logical Data Marts in Azure Synapse and SQL Server
  • Follow best practices for Power BI report design & BI deliverables in general
  • Work and collaborate with Data Engineering resources
  • Explore potential data science initiatives within the existing framework
  • Collaborate with various Business stakeholders
  • Identify potential gaps in reporting & BI needs across business domains
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, with BI / Data science projects undertaken at university level.
  • 1-2 years of experience working in growing organizational BI.
  • Actual experience in data science applications in corporate environment is an asset.
  • Fundamental knowledge of BI related concepts is expected.
  • Familiarity working with or projects undertaken using various reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau, etc.
  • Knowledge of Data Lakes, Data warehousing, Data Mart concepts an asset.
  • Knowledge of Data Modelling, Data Transformation & database normalization concepts.
  • Understand SQL. Be willing to learn advanced SQL. Familiarity with SQL Server and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) an asset.
  • Familiarity with Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Data Lake, SQL Data Warehouse an asset.
  • Familiarity working with programming languages like Python, R, Java
  • Willingness to be on top of new technological advances and features in BI (Power BI specifically).
  • Bilingual with strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English, as the candidate will be required to interact in English with stakeholders (colleagues and clients) outside Quebec.
  • Passion for data & driving actionable insights from it.
  • Strong problem-solving and logical reasoning skills.
  • Attention to details and data validation skills.
  • Reliable, flexible & dedicated.
  • Team Player with excellent communication skills.
  • Professionalism a must (Meet deadlines, double check the deliverable, etc.).
