Job description

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Software Development, the Business Intelligence Data Specialist will be instrumental in designing, managing, and supporting the data and reporting landscape for the business. The position will be a strategic role leveraging experience in data modelling, data warehousing, and report model creation to shape the next generation of business intelligence and report offerings, as the company moves towards a new architecture utilizing the latest technologies. This role joins during an exciting digital transformation journey, migrating operations to the cloud and adopting new technologies.

JOB DUTIES :

• Own and govern the business intelligence and reporting platform offerings.
• Provide insights into reporting platform usage and metrics.
• Support migration of existing data warehouse and critical reporting to a new data warehousing platform and structure.
• Enforce data cleanliness, consistency, and quality in the BI platform.
• Create data dictionaries to support reporting platforms.
• Identify opportunities to improve business process efficiency.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and modify reporting applications to meet user requirements.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

• Minimum of 8 years’ practical experience in relevant roles.
• Post-secondary degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience and education.
• Strong technical experience with relational databases, data modelling, and warehousing principles.
• Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server stack – TSQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS.
• Expertise in Microsoft Power BI.
• Experience with data migration, cleansing, validation, and de-duplication.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in developing standards, procedures, and guidelines for operational support.
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with flexibility and dedication.
• Willingness to work outside normal hours occasionally.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Excellent English communication skills—oral and written.
• Results-oriented, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
• Practical experience with cloud computing, preferably Azure.
• Experience with Microsoft D365, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, GIT, Azure Data Warehouse, Microsoft Fabric, Synapse Data Warehouse, Data Factory, and CRM.
