Business Intelligence Analyst – Fulltime opportunity

Location: Port Coquitlam BC / Hybrid

BACKGROUND

Our client is seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Analyst to drive data foundation for years to come.

Duties Required:

The successful candidate will provide data analysis and business intelligence services including, but not limited to, the following:

Review of background material to understand the work purpose and objectives, documented requirements, and/or User Stories.

Work closely with the project team to perform data analysis of Enterprise data and provide expertise and advice to business and stakeholders on the application of Data Management and Business Intelligence practices and principles.

Perform detailed analyses of business areas to identify, understand, model and define data, business data flows and processes in conjunction with business and stakeholders. Identify data anomalies, patterns, overlaps and duplications and recommend improvements according to data management best practices and organization standards.

Proactively collaborate with Development Team and communicate with Stakeholders to ensure project efforts proceed efficiently;

Participate in identification of project risks, and in mitigating technical, schedule and other project risks;

Participate in daily standup meetings;

Participate in all other related project work as defined by the Team Lead or manager.

Perform detailed analyses of business areas to identify, understand, model and define data, business data flows and processes.

Build reports and dashboards

Document recommendations for enhancements to internal workflows, data pipelines and reporting mechanism

Knowledge and Experience:

The preferred candidate will possess the following:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business Administration, or equivalent.

at least 5 years experience as a DW/BI developer, database designer/engineer or equivelant

Experience in enterprise environments

Exposure to the Azure platform and OneLake/DataLake storage architecture

Experience in creating reports and dashboards using Power BI or Tableau is mandatory.

Experience with Microsoft databases is mandatory.

Knowledge of standard MS Office tools including Microsoft Excel.

Knowledge and experience with Agile project tracking tools would be an asset.
