Job summary

A consulting firm in Victoria, BC is looking for a Business Impact Analyst. In this role, you will conduct Business Impact Analyses, collaborate with internal teams, and recommend recovery objectives. The position is remote with occasional office meetings. Ideal candidates have over 5 years of experience in stakeholder engagement and as a Business Analyst.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a Business Impact Analysis (BIA).
  • Collaborate on a corporate-level BIA.
  • Establish risk tolerance for critical functions.
  • Recommend Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs).
  • Map business functions to IT assets.
  • Conduct technical assessments of recovery capabilities.
  • Deliver a comprehensive implementation roadmap.

Job Description : Our client in Victoria, BC, is seeking a Business Impact Analyst. The candidate will deliver services remotely and attend meetings at the office. This is initially a 10-month contract with the possibility of extension.

Must Have Primary Skills :

  • High stakeholder engagement and adoption of recommendations.
  • Effective communication and presentation of findings and plans.
  • Collaborative work within a cross-functional team.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data.
  • Positive feedback from references and documented lessons learned.

Nice To Have Secondary Skills : As required.

Proven Experience In :

  • Conducting a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) to understand how changes or disruptions could impact the organization across functions and departments.
  • Collaborating with internal business units and the Emergency Management Program (EMP) on a corporate-level BIA.
  • Establishing risk tolerance of critical functions and processes.
  • Recommending Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) for key systems.
  • Mapping business functions to IT assets, identifying single points of failure and interdependencies.
  • Conducting technical assessments of IT recovery capabilities, including architecture, tools, and staffing.
  • Designing governance and staffing models for BC/DR planning, benchmarked against other transit agencies and crown corporations.
  • Delivering a comprehensive implementation roadmap in three scenarios: Best Case, Likely Case, and Minimum Case, to support executive decision-making.
