The GRA’s economy reached an estimated $18.2B in GDP in 2024, with agriculture contributing <$1B and energy <$4B respectively. The Position

The Business Growth Program Coordinator plays a critical role in driving business growth, retention, and collaboration across the Greater Regina Area (GRA) for Economic Development Regina. Reporting to the Manager, Entrepreneurship & Emerging Sectors and/or the President & CEO, this position is responsible for coordinating key programs that support business expansion while fostering strong relationships with businesses, stakeholders, and industry associations. This is a high-energy role focused on business engagement, program execution, and program administration to ensure EDR’s programs are effectively delivered, specifically assisting second-stage companies in scaling their operations within the GRA.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Program Implementation & Coordination: Assist in the execution and management of entrepreneurship programs, workshops, and initiatives.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, small businesses, ecosystem partners, service providers, operators and community organizations.
  3. Event Planning & Logistics: Organize and facilitate program events, training sessions, and mentorship activities as per EDR’s Entrepreneurship Program.
  4. Participant Support: Identify and engage businesses to take part in EDR’s Entrepreneurship Program. Serve as a point of contact for entrepreneurs, answering inquiries, and ensuring program engagement.
  5. Data Collection & Reporting: Track program metrics, gather participant feedback, and assist in preparing reports to measure program success.
  6. Grant & Funding Assistance: Support grant applications, sponsorship outreach, and financial tracking for entrepreneurship programs.
  7. Administrative Support: Manage and/or assist with scheduling, meeting coordination, budget management, strategic planning, reporting and documentation related to entrepreneurship initiatives.
  8. Research & Resource Development: Conduct research and report on industry trends, best practices, and funding opportunities to enhance department programming.
  9. Partner Collaboration: Work with other municipal or economic development departments to align entrepreneurship initiatives with broader economic goals.

Performance Indicators

  1. Effective administration of the Business Growth Program with measurable outcomes.
  2. Increase in entrepreneur participation and positive feedback from program participants.
  3. Number of events/workshops organized, attendance rates, and post-event evaluations.
  4. Effective allocation of program resources, including budget adherence and cost-efficiency.
  5. Number of businesses that achieve key milestones (e.g., revenue growth, job creation, expansion) due to program support.
  6. Success in assisting with sponsorships or securing additional funding, as needed.
  7. Timely and accurate reporting of key program and metrics.

This is what we're looking for

Educational Background:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, public administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Skills & Expertise:

  1. 3+ years of experience in program management, project coordination, entrepreneurship, economic development, or a related field.

  1. Proven ability to engage, work collaboratively with and build lasting relationships with multiple levels of stakeholders.
  2. Strong lead generation and client management skills.
  3. Knowledge of economic development programs, business incentives, and regional growth trends is an asset.
  4. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  5. Self-motivated, strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

Salary Range

$60,000 to $70,000 based on level of experience and other factors.
