The Sutton Place Wine Merchant is an international wine, spirits and beer boutique Our current stock includes approximately 1000 different wines at most price points and features both unique and familiar labels. The store features an intimate ambiance and carries a wide selection of attractively displayed wines from both the Old World and the New World.We are currently seeking candidates for the following position:* *Assistant General Manager (AGM)**Key Responsibilities:** Daily operations of the store, supervising opening and closing duties, maintaining product and service standards, product placement, inventory control and reporting and ordering* Manage office supply inventory, co-ordinate the service and maintenance of store hardware* Co-ordinate with General Manager to source product and place weekly orders* Co-ordinate with General Manager to optimize store layout, stock and rotate product effectively, and maintain visual standards* Manage daily store reporting using Barnet POS, Opera PMS, and Excel* Provide leadership to team members, setting the standard by example and providing a positive, inclusive work environment* Provide premier customer service to all customers* Inventory counting, reconciliation, and reporting* Must be able to work weekends and evenings*Skills & Experience** Strong wine, beer, and spirits knowledge, WSET 3 or equivalent* Previous buying experience in retail or restaurant environment* Understanding and literacy with budgets and financial statements* Able to prepare budgets and forecasts* Experience leading teams and creating positive, inclusive environments* Strong organizational skills, ability to manage deadlines and schedules* Experience working with POS systems, Inventory systems* Ability to lift and move boxes up to 50lbs*Qualifications:*Excellent career opportunity for an enthusiastic, outgoing and team-oriented individual with strong wine knowledge (recognized wine training a definite asset such as WSET, ISG, etc) and preferably a minimum one-year related experience, preferably in the F&B or wine industries. Candidate must have exceptional guest service skills, a passion for wine & a desire to learn more, strong organizational skills & attention to detail, Serving It Right, ability to lift & carry heavy items, ability to work in a positive team environment, handle payments & balance cash float and work with a computerized POS system.*SUMMATION:*Submission of resume does not guarantee an interview or an actual transfer.
